About the Northwest Georgia Inspectors Association

The Northwest Georgia Inspectors Association (NWGIA) is a professional organization serving building and public safety officials throughout Northwest Georgia. While not a government agency, NWGIA is a government-supported and professionally aligned association made up of individuals who work directly within local and municipal government.

Our membership includes municipal building inspectors, building officials, code enforcement professionals, and public works personnel representing cities, counties, and jurisdictions across the region. Collectively, these professionals are responsible for ensuring that construction, infrastructure, and public projects meet established safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

NWGIA operates independently to provide a collaborative forum for education, professional development, and information sharing. Through training opportunities, continuing education, conferences, and peer collaboration, the association supports its members in staying current with evolving building codes, best practices, and regulatory changes that impact their communities.

By fostering cooperation among inspectors and public officials, NWGIA helps promote consistent code enforcement, improved public safety, and higher standards of professionalism across Northwest Georgia—ultimately benefiting the municipalities and residents our members serve.
